My name is Nick Caramela. I earned a BFA in Sound Design at Savannah College of Art and Design, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA. In addition, I earned an Avid Pro Tools 11 HD 210P Operator’s certification.
I was honored to have won the 2015 Verna Fields Golden Reel for my work as a sound effects editor on the short film Sea Odyssey. The same year, I was fortunate to have received an additional nomination for the Verna Fields Golden Reel for my work as a foley artist and editor on the short film HOMINID.
I first began my career as a Foley Assistant at C5 Sound Inc at their Foley studio in Northvale NJ. There I learned from, and assisted Foley Artist Marko A. Costanzo, and Foley Engineer George Lara. In 2016 I was fortunate to have been honored by the Primetime Emmys Foundation for my work on the HBO’s The Night Of “Subtle Best” as a Foley Assistant.
I currently work at Soundtrack Group in NY. My roles at Soundtrack include Foley Artist, Sound Effects Editor, Foley Editor, Machine Room Technician, VO Engineer, ADR Recordist, and Mix Technician. I work freelance jobs on the side, and hope to continue my path toward success in the industry by developing more connections, and continuing to work towards my goal of someday becoming a Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer.
