Foley Artist Spotlight: The Righteous Gemstones Season 2

As the Foley Artist for The Righteous Gemstones, both seasons 1 and 2, I had some of the best opportunities to create Sound Effects that comedically support the hilarious performances, and writing that has gone into the show. Opportunities to work on a show where you can really add to the storyline, and supplement funny moments to make them even funnier are always welcomed with open arms. Under the Supervision of Nicholas Renbeck (also the Sound Effects Editor and Sound Designer for the series), and along with Foley Editor Dan Brennan, Foley Mixers Connor Nagy and Andre Kelman, and on season 2, Foley Artist in training Zack Booth, a snowball effect occurs with ideas for funny moments, and how sound can be used to support them. This collaboration allows for different perspectives, and causes ideas for moments to develop further. Foley is recorded, then takes are chosen and tweaked, FX and Design is cut into place, and all of them are then layered together to work in unison. Mix in the Music and the hilarious performances (both Dialog and picture), and an already funny moment becomes hysterical.

The combination of a great show, great performances, great writing, and a great team collaborating together creates an ideal opportunity. One that I am grateful to have received.
